Rowan Precision Advances Net Zero Commitment with Major Energy Efficiency Project
Rowan Precision has taken a significant step forward in its sustainability journey following the successful completion of a major energy efficiency project, supported through grant funding secured in late 2025.
After initially missing out on funding through the Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) programme in 2024, the company renewed its efforts in 2025. Participation in the Future Fit Manufacturing Cohort, delivered by Oxford Innovation after invitation from Sharn Haywood-Higgs, proved to be a turning point. The programme provided valuable insight, collaboration opportunities, and industry connections that helped shape the company’s approach to energy reduction.
It was during a session focused on Energy Efficiency in Action, hosted by Thomas Dudley Ltd, that Rowan Precision connected with Nersi Salehi of ProEnviro Limited. This relationship proved instrumental in preparing for the next phase of funding and project delivery.
Installation
Following a detailed site visit and review, ProEnviro supported Rowan Precision in developing a comprehensive Energy Assessment Report, identifying five key opportunities for improvement. Four of these were selected for implementation:
Installation of LED lighting systems
Deployment of an Automated Monitoring & Targeting (aM&T) system
Installation of a Solar PV array
Upgrade to a modern, energy-efficient compressor
These measures are projected to reduce energy consumption by 104,856 kWh per year and deliver a carbon saving of 23.63 tonnes of CO₂e annually.
Grant approval was secured in December 2025, and the project was delivered at pace in early 2026 in collaboration with a trusted network of supplier partners:
Ryan Goodswen Electrical Ltd – LED lighting installation
Custom Energy Solutions – an M&T system implementation
SRC Northwest – Solar PV installation
West Midlands Compressors – Compressor upgrade

Measurable Results
The project has already begun delivering measurable results. Between 17 February 2026 and 30 March 2026, the newly installed solar system generated:
6,458 kWh of clean electricity
1.14 tonnes of CO₂e avoided
0.79 tonnes of coal equivalent saved
Equivalent carbon absorption of approximately 50 trees

Rowan Precision also extends its thanks to Sue A Jones, Senior Business Officer at Birmingham City Council, for her support in managing the grant process.
This initiative represents another important milestone in Rowan Precision’s long-term Net Zero strategy, demonstrating the company’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while improving operational efficiency.
