Last Friday, Rowan Precision said goodbye to Ricardo Morgan, who has left the business to take up a new role with BMW.
Ricardo joined the company in January 2023 following redundancy, at a time when he needed the opportunity to continue his degree apprenticeship at Aston University. During his time with us, he not only completed his apprenticeship with a 2:1 classification, but also grew into a highly valued member of “Team Rowan”.
He developed strong practical skills in CNC machining and gained a solid understanding of the realities of a modern engineering environment. More importantly, he approached every challenge with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Reflecting on his time with Rowan Precision, Ricardo said:
“My time at Rowan Precision has played a significant role in my development, both professionally and academically. After being made redundant, I was given an opportunity at a time when I needed it most… Overall, I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity and the support I received. It has contributed to where I am today.”
Glenn Aston, CEO/CFO, commented:
“We are pleased to have been able to participate in Ricardo’s development and to see him grow both as an engineer and person. The only downside is that we have not been able to continue the partnership further. In my opinion the powers that be need to have a serious look at the funding for apprenticeships.”
While we are naturally sorry to see Ricardo leave, we are proud of the role we have played in his journey and fully support his next step.
We thank Ricardo for his contribution to Rowan Precision and wish him every success for the future.
